He has won awards in both comedy and sleight-of-hand contests including a Silver Medal at an International Sleight-of-hand Convention and First Place in a Star Search Comedy Competition. On April 9, 2000, Carl was awarded 3rd place at the world championship of professional close-up magicians in Vienna, Austria. At the championship in Vienna, Carl was also became the first two time winner of the "People's Choice" award for best magician.

Carl Andrews travels all over the world, has performed on two national Japanese television specials, and has appeared in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and at the prestigious Magic Castle in Hollywood. In addition to appearing at conventions, colleges, and cruise ships, Carl has performed in concert with: Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Nancy Wilson, Ramsey Lewis, Herbie Mann, and Marie Osmond to name a few. When he is home Carl entertains for conventions at several of the resorts on Maui in Hawaii.
